Celebrini slid hard into the boards during the second period and only played one more shift before heading to the locker room. During the second intermission, the team announced that the centerman would not return with a lower-body injury. 

Matt Benning scored for the Sharks, and Mackenzie Blackwood made 22 saves. 

Utah scored twice through Kailer Yamamoto, and Sean Durzi netted the other. Connor Ingram made 19 saves.

Will Smith often took Celebrini's spot as the top center with Tyler Toffoli and William Eklund on his wings.
