The San Jose Sharks will take on the Colorado Avalanche and get forwards Will Smith and William Eklund back into the lineup.

The San Jose Sharks will take on the Colorado Avalanche and get forwards Will Smith and William Eklund back into the lineup.

Head coach Ryan Warsofsky said forwards Klim Kostin and Givani Smith will be healthy scratches. Despite relieving Mackenzie Blackwood in Friday's loss to the Winnipeg Jets, Vitek Vanecek will make his second start in the last three games. He will appear in each of the Sharks' previous three games.

Warsofsky did not want to discuss Will Smith's exact rest plan but noted that Smith's plan is completely different from that of 2024 No. 1 pick Macklin Celebrini.

"I'm not going to get into Macklin's plan," Warsofsky said. "It's completely different, and he's hurt right now, so it's kind of irrelevant."

Warsofsky gave some intel on how the Sharks will line up against the Avalanche.

Based on Warsofsky's notes, here is the projected lineup:

Fabian Zetterlund-Mikael Granlund-Tyler Toffoli

William Eklund-Alexander Wennberg-Ty Dellandrea

Danil Gushchin-Will Smith-Luke Kunin

Carl Grundstrom-Nico Sturm-Barclay Goodrow

Jake Walman-Cody Ceci

Mario Ferraro-Jan Rutta

Henry Thrun-Matt Benning

Vitek Vanecek

The lineup will be confirmed during warmups beginning around 4:30 p.m. PST.
