
Wyatt Johnston scored his first career hat trick, Anthony Duclair had four points, and Roope Hintz scored the overtime winner in a 7-6 comeback win for the Dallas Stars over the San Jose Sharks.
"I really liked what we did after we've got up six-three. We were just staying above them and playing a good smart third period and then the one mistake ends up in the back of our net and you can just feel the uh-oh feeling on the bench," Sharks coach David Quinn said.
Duclair stayed red hot and continues to play his best hockey of the season. Fabian Zettelrund, Mikael Granlund, and Ryan Carpenter scored the other goals for San Jose. Not to be forgotten, Kaapo Kahkonen stopped 34 shots.
Jake Oettinger struggled, making only 14 saves. Wyatt Johnston earned his first career hat trick and brought his goal total to 22 on the season. Logan Stankoven had two goals and one assist, and Jamie Benn scored the other goal for Dallas.
San Jose was efficient all night and continued to convert on the powerplay. Their penalty kill struggled again as they gave up two goals in back-to-back kills.
Duclair is now tied for the team lead in goals with 16 between him and Zetterlund.
Zetterlund left the game in the third period.
