Robert Edwards-USA TODAY Sports - BREAKING: Logan Couture To Make Season Debut Against Ducks

San Jose Sharks head coach David Quinn confirmed that Logan Couture will make his season debut tomorrow against the Anaheim Ducks.

"I expect to play tomorrow," Couture told THN. "I'm looking forward to it."

Couture skated on a line with Fabian Zetterlund and Alexander Barabanov at practice this morning.

Nico Sturm is expected to return to the Sharks lineup as well. He had been out with a wrist injury.

"[It's] very exciting," head coach David Quinn said. "Not only that, obviously, that's going to help our penalty kill but just overall, [but just] our overall play and the mindset of your team. When you add two good players to the lineup, your team feels better about themselves. They played better individually. It's just a good jolt of energy."

It will be interesting to see his role within the lineup, as he did not have a conditioning stint in the AHL. Couture has been practicing since December 19. He has participated in full practice and on a line the last two days.

He will be a welcome addition to a struggling Sharks team. He should be deployed as another penalty-kill option, something the Sharks have needed a lot of help with. He is a bonified NHL-caliber player who has had success throughout his career.

"I've tried to help out from the stands and give my two cents," Couture said about his addition to the penalty kill. "It's always easier when you're involved; hopefully, I can help us out."

Couture's last game was on April 13, 2023, against the Edmonton Oilers.
