Dean Tait - Sport Shots - BREAKING: Sharks Training Camp Roster Cut Down By 13

The San Jose Sharks have made their first round of roster cuts.

The team announced its first round of roster cuts involving 13 players. Some notable names include Nolan Burke and Gannon Laroque. Burke was acquired from the Nashville Predators Yaroslav Askarov trade.

Goaltender Aaron Dell is on the list of roster cuts. Dell's PTO was announced the morning of the Sharks' first day of training camp. Askarov was not ready for the start of camp due to a lower-body injury. The netminder said it wasn't a severe injury, and he should return soon.

According to the Mercury News, Dell will stay within the organization and join the Barracuda as his PTO is still in place.

With two goalies off the roster, Askarov could be close to returning. The team is off today, and tomorrow is the soonest Askarov could be seen back on the ice.
