A former Shark lauds Macklin Celebrini's elite hockey IQ and relentless drive, declaring him a top-tier talent already dominating the league.

In a recent interview with San Jose Hockey Now, former San Jose Sharks defensemen Dan Boyle spoke on just how good he thinks Macklin Celebrini will become.

It is no secret that Celebrini has been lights out this season. In 11 games, he has scored six goals and 11 assists for 17 points. Which puts him in the top three for points in the entire league.

Boyle, who played for some great players during his career had some great praise for him. Here is what he had to say.

"I got to say, through three games I wasn't overly impressed. But good lord, he is the best player on the ice every night. I think he's a top five player in the league right now, I really do. From what I saw, the hockey IQ is as good as I've seen. I mean it's Sidney Crosby-esk. He makes moves and puts his body in positions that like 99% of the guys can't do. He reminds me of a video game."

Boyle would go on to say:

"He is phenomenal, he has been incredible, his work ethic, he works his f*cking ass off and that's what I love. Because there's a lot of guys who have talent, I played for 18 years, many guys who had talent, but sometimes their heart and their effort isn't quite there eery night and his is there every night, every shift. He's the best player on the ice every shift and every night."

Do you think Celebrini is a top-five player in the league right now?
