The 2024 AHL All-Star Game is being hosted in San Jose, and former San Jose Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle will have a big role.
"Each year, the All-Star Classic honorary captains join the participating teams in the locker room and on the benches during the event, and are recognized for their careers at the annual AHL Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony," AHL writes.
Boyle was a Shark for six years and played 431 games, the most out of any other team he played for in his career. Boyle had 68 goals and 201 assists in Teal for 269 points.
Boyle scored 99 points in 117 AHL contests, earning a spot on the AHL All-Rookie Team in 1998-99 and Second Team AHL All-Star honors in both 1998-99 and 1999-2000. He participated in two AHL All-Star Classics.
The AHL All-Star Classic will occur at Tech CU Arena on February 4-5.
