The 2023 Rookie Faceoff will be held in Las Vegas this season, and many of the San Jose Sharks' top prospects will be participating.
2021 first-round pick William Eklund will be participating for the third time.
Last year, the Sharks hosted the event at Sharks Ice San Jose and showed off Tech CU Arena for the first time.
Quentin Musty was selected 26th overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2023 NHL Draft. Musty stood out during Sharks development camp back in July.
He scored a hat trick on his birthday during the prospect scrimmage on July 6.
Thomas Bordeleau, Ozzy Wiesblatt, and Danil Gushchin are just some of the other forwards headed to Sin City.
Fellow 2023 draft pick Luca Cagnoni will also be heading to Vegas. The smooth-skating, offensive-minded defenseman was considered a steal being drafted at No. 123.
Cagnoni took part in the Neely Cup for the Portland Winterhawks at the beginning of this month and produced two unbelievable highlights.
Shakir Mukhamadullin was acquired from the New Jersey Devils when the San Jose Sharks traded Timo Meier.
Mukhamadullin impressed in his ten games with the AHL's San Jose Barracuda. Barracuda head coach John McCarthy said Mukhamadullin will play in all situations to start the season.
Another defenseman to keep an eye on is Valtteri Pulli. Pulli showed his size and strength at Development Camp.
The Sharks have lacked a solid net-front presence in the defensive zone for quite some time. Pulli's balance and strength allow him to be that exact force. Pulli is 22 years old and is listed at 6'5, 210 lbs. Given his age, he is still filling out the frame of his body.
Henry Thrun will likely be the No. 1 defenseman for the Sharks at the Rookie Faceoff. He is expected to make the NHL club right out of training camp and potentially take on a significant role.
The San Jose Sharks are bringing three goalies to Las Vegas. Magnus Chrona, Mason Beaupit, and Georgi Romanov.
Size seems to be what GM Mike Grier targets when it comes to goalie prospects. Beaupit and Chrona are both 6'5, while Romanov is 6'4.
All three netminders have athleticism and are expected to be a three-headed monster for the Barracuda this season.
Barracuda broadcaster Nick Nollenberger will accompany the squad to Vegas. He will be live for all Sharks games throughout the tournament. All of the Sharks games will also be streamed via sjsharks.com.
