The San Jose Sharks (11-31-4) hit the road for a quick trip to face the Los Angeles Kings (22-13-8) before returning home tomorrow.
Logan Couture made his season debut against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday and finished the game with an assist.
He will play his first road game of the season. With this being just his second game and the first game of a back-to-back, Couture's minutes should continue to be monitored. Couture played 15:49 on Saturday. Last season, the captain averaged 19:07 TOI.
"I had no gas left. That was my last shift of the second period. I told Quinny I couldn't go after that point. I was so tired," Couture said after the game. "I just saw him. Credit to him for driving the net backside, [I] was able to make a nice backhand saucer pass, and he buried it upstairs."
The Sharks will look to continue their winning ways against a strong division rival. Head coach David Quinn juggled the forward lines a lot on Saturday. Anthony Duclair started on the fourth line and worked his way up to the top line alongside Tomas Hertl.
William Eklund started with Couture but found himself on a line with Luke Kunin and Nico Sturm.
Don't forget Quinn started Hertl and Couture together and said after the game that it could be possible when the team is fully healthy.
Per SJHN, Quinn continued to juggle the forward lines at the morning skate. SJHN also reports that Kaapo Kahkonen will be the starting netminder.
The powerplay lines should remain the same from the last game, with Logan Couture running the top unit.
Sharks projected line combinations:
Zetterlund-Hertl-Hoffman
Barabanov-Couture-Duclair
Eklund-Sturm-Kunin
Bailey-Carpenter-Zadina
Vlasic-Ferraro
Thrun-Rutta
Okhotiuk-Burroughs
Kahkonen
Blackwood
Puck drop is at 7:30 PST and can be seen on NBC Sports California or the Sharks Audio Network.
