Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports - REPORT: Flyers Forward Not Interested In Trade To Sharks

Philadelphia Flyers forward Cam Atkinson could be on the move this offseason, and reports say the San Jose Sharks are interested in acquiring him.

San Jose needs to add veteran talent to complement the prospects who jump to the NHL. Players like Will Smith and Macklin Celebrini can learn from him.

Darren Dreger reports that despite San Jose's interest, Atkinson is not "keen" on the move across the country.

The winger's contract includes a 10-team no-trade list, so he would hold some control should he get traded. His cap hit is $5,875,000, which would help the Sharks reach the salary cap floor of $65 million.

The 35-year-old has been a solid player in the league for 12 seasons and has scored over 30 goals once. He was a complimentary top-six forward but got scratched late in the season for the Flyers. He's also dealt with some injuries and did not play a single game in the 22-23 season.

In 21-22, Atkinson had 23 goals and 27 assists in 73 games. In 23-24, Atkinson's production dropped off to 13 goals and 15 assists in 70 games.

The offseason is just around the corner, and GM Mike Grier looks like he's got a busy summer with deals to make.
