San Jose Sharks captain Logan Couture has played just six games this season, and although his return is beginning to look unlikely, the team and he are still holding out hope that he can return.
Sharks head coach David Quinn provided an update on the captain's status yesterday.
"I don't know. I don't want to speculate on that. Tough too tough to tell with this situation," Quinn said yesterday.
Couture is dealing with a deep groin issue that causes him to have good days and bad days.
Quinn told the media that he is still coming around the rink and is around the team.
"This bothers him big time," Quinn explained. "I think when you get to this point, late in your career, you get nervous when you have an injury. I keep talking about living in the moment you get better, and you know there's a lot of optimism, but to be optimistic when you're not the one having the pain and having to deal with the injuries."
Couture had one assist in six games this season.
