Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports - Sharks Coach David Quinn Supports Pride Tape Despite NHL's Ban

David Quinn told the media yesterday that if a player on the San Jose Sharks chooses to use pride tape despite the NHL's ban, he would support them.

"Personally? Absolutely," Quinn said. "Everybody knows where I stand. Everybody knows where our organization stands."

DQ said he was unsure if the fine would go to the player, coach, or team if a player decides to use pride tape.

Everyone has a right to choose what they want to do. If a player is passionate about supporting this cause, they should be able to use pride tape. Just like if a player supports the U.S. Military, they should be able to use camouflage tape.

The NHL jersey ban is not going away, but banning tape for warmups is excessive, and it goes further than just pride night.
