The AHL suspended San Jose Sharks prospect Ozzy Wiesblatt for three games for interference.
The San Jose Barracuda regular season got underway last night against the Rockford IceHogs.
Wiesblatt has a playstyle that involves physicality and pestering the opponent. Last night, that was no different, as the winger was bouncing bodies all night.
He took it a step too far in the second period with a hit against Kale Howarth, who didn't have the puck.
Howarth is listed at 6'5 and 205 lbs compared to Wiesblatt, who is listed at 5'10, 185 lbs.
Wiesblatt was issued a five-minute major and a game misconduct. The IceHogs scored on the powerplay twice, making it a 4-1 game.
The IceHogs would go on to win the game 7-2.
