The San Jose Sharks released their roster for the upcoming Golden State Rookie Faceoff which will take place later this month. Let’s take a look.
Forwards: Filip Bystedt, Igor Chernyshov, Collin Graf, Kasper Halttunen, Max Heise, Zach Houben, Cam Lund, Michael Misa, Quentin Musty, Teddy Mutrin, Jake Stuart, Luke Torrance, Carson Wetsch
Among this group, the standout names are undoubtedly Michael Misa and Quentin Musty. Misa was the second overall pick in this past summer’s draft, while Musty had a phenomenal performance at last year’s event and could be a dark horse for an NHL job this fall.
Defensemen: Jack Bar, Noah Beck, Luca Cagnoni, Sam Dickinson, Jake Furlong, Braden Hache, Mattias Havelid, Haoxi (Simon) Wang
On the blue line, all eyes are likely going to be focused on Sam Dickinson, who had a dominant season with the Ontario Hockey League’s London Knights, as he’s a favorite to break through and earn an NHL roster spot if he has a strong training camp.
Haoxi (Simon) Wang won’t be in the NHL this season; he’s a raw prospect with high potential. As a high draft pick this past summer, he’ll certainly be an interesting player to watch as he plays against other high-end prospects.
Goaltenders: Matt Davis, Christian Kirsch, Joshua Ravensbergen
The goalie that everyone wants to see will undoubtedly be Joshua Ravensbergen. A highly touted prospect heading into this past summer’s draft, seeing how he performs against top-level prospects will show quite a bit about what he brings to the table.
The Golden State Rookie Faceoff will kick off in 10 days on Sept. 12 and run through the 14th.
