Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports - Three Sharks Named On Sportsnet's 25 NHL Trade Candidates

The NHL trade deadline is two months away, and Sportsnet has named 25 players likely to be traded; three members of the San Jose Sharks were included on the list.

Anthony Duclair, Mario Ferraro, and Kevin Labanc are top trade candidates for the March 8th deadline.

    Anthony Duclair

    Sportsnet writes this about Duclair:

"Smart money is on this being Duclair's only season with the Sharks, with it getting cut short by a trade to a team that would pay the asking price because it feels like he can provide depth scoring and hopes that, if need be, he can even provide some primary scoring. It's not like Duclair hasn't proven he can do it when paired with premium talent."

Duclair's speed has been displayed all season despite the lack of offensive production. Duclair has seven goals and six assists in 36 games this season.

    Mario Ferraro

Ferraro is in year two of a four-year contract with a $3.25 million cap hit. At 25 years old, Ferraro could garner some significant trade value.

    Sportsnet writes this about Ferraro:

"Maybe a No. 4 next to a partner with an offensive bent. Or a very good No. 5. He's still young at 25, which means you might have to knock Sharks GM Mike Grier's socks off to get a deal done. But when your team is where Grier's is, you know he picks up the phone."

Ferraro's name has been seen in rumors earlier this season. Elliotte Friedman reported that he is available for GM Mike Grier to trade.

    Kevin Labanc

Kevin Labanc has not had a good tenure with the Sharks since signing his four-year, $18.9 million extension in 2020. He will be a healthy scratch tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs for Scott Sabourin, which is telling to his poor production.

As for his availability on the trade market, his value may not be that high, but gaining draft capital of any sort would be a positive at this point.

    Sportsnet writes this on Labanc:

"The 28-year-old does compete, has eight years of NHL experience, and might help somebody's power-play depth. GM Mike Grier will try to get something, but he will have to be creative on the cap hit."

Alexander Barabanov could be considered a hot commodity at the trade deadline but wasn't named on Sportsnet's list.
