Magnus Chrona earned his first NHL win with the San Jose Sharks tonight and shared a full-circle moment with backup goalie Devin Cooley.
Chrona and Cooley were teammates at Denver University during the 2019-20 season. Chrona said that Cooley was his backup goalie during his first win in the NCAA.
"It's a little throwback. We were goalie partners my first year in school. When I saw him before the game, it was a lot of memories coming back," Chrona said postgame. "It was fun especially that he got to be here for my first win because he was there for my first college win. It's just a full circle."
"I got the puck, and I got the stat sheet for it. That's going to be framed," Chrona said. "I don't know [who the puck will go to], but it'll be framed with the puck."
Chrona stopped 31 shots against the Ottawa Senators for his first win tonight.
