Luke Kunin has earned an 'A' on his San Jose Sharks jersey and has proved why recently.
"I said this between the second and third. We need more people doing that. And I'm not saying fighting; I mean playing with an edge and being all in," Sharks coach David Quinn said about Kunin after yesterday's game. "It can't always be him. Right. It's got to be other people. On top of being a good player, that's what makes him such a valuable player for us or any team that he's on and he's been that way his whole life."
Kunin has gotten into a fight in four of his last seven games and tossed the body around, as seen above.
"He's bringing it every day. He's really good in the locker room," William Eklund said about Kunin. "He always works and every guy sees that. We always try to do as he does because he always comes and competes every day."
Kunin has 16 points in 71 games this season. He's played both center and wing for Quinn but has really started to show his true role on the team in recent games. He also scored a crucial goal in his home state.
"I can't say enough about that guy. I'd go to war with him every day," Quinn said of Kunin after the Sharks lost to the Los Angeles Kings. "You want him on your team every day. He's always a guy doing it. So, you know, it's just who he is. It's who he's been his whole career. He's certainly in the conversation [for team MVP], that is for sure."
