The San Jose Sharks might've found their next dynamic duo.
Macklin Celebrini and Tyler Toffoli have been on the same line throughout training camp and have begun building strong chemistry.
Before last night's preseason game against the Vegas Golden Knights, Celebrini joked about the duo's chemistry not being like Vancouver Canucks legends Daniel and Henrik Sedin but said he hopes to get to that level with Toffoli.
"The more you play with someone, you figure out their tendencies, and it gets easier to play with them [and] read off them," Celebrini said about playing with Toffoli. "I don't know if we're like the Sedin brothers yet, but hopefully, we can get there."
Celebrini gave Toffoli a no-look pass with a vibe similar to a Henrik to Daniel no-look pass.
Celebrini's use of the Sedin twins makes sense, as the 2024 No. 1 pick was a Canucks fan growing up. He even attended a Canucks playoff game during the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
After last night's game, Toffoli talked about his on-ice chemistry with Celebrini and what he thought of his game.
"You saw tonight the things that he can do, not only scoring goals and the pass that he made to me, but I thought he did a really good job of staying low in the [defensive] zone and being really responsible," Toffoli said. "It's only one game, but he's been great all the way through camp so far."
Nobody can replicate the chemistry of the Sedin twins, but that is a good duo for the top Sharks' forwards to re-create.
