The San Jose Sharks will take on the Vegas Golden Knights tonight, and Quentin Musty will play with Thomas Bordeleau and William Eklund.

Musty did not participate at the beginning of camp due to an upper-body injury, but the forward said he is 100%.

Sharks Head Coach David Quinn had been non-committal earlier in camp on whether the No. 26 pick would get into a preseason game. However, now healthy, Quinn has decided to get him in the lineup.

"Just to go play with some freedom and compete, which he does consistently," Quinn said about Musty. "As you get older and you get to higher levels, a lot of things you've been doing for 14 years you're not going to be able to at this level. So it's a learning curve for a lot of people like him with such high skill."

Musty says he wants to have fun and help the team win tonight.

"It's good to get the experience of playing with the NHL guys," Musty said. "It'll be fun. [I'm] just trying to do what I can. I know it's preseason, but just help the team win."

Although Musty's injury is why he stayed in San Jose longer, that hasn't deterred him from his goal of turning pro.

"I think everyone [who] came in here was trying to make a team. I think that's the point of all this," Musty said. "I trust [the Sharks] with my development, and whatever path they choose for me, I'll do that."

Quinn also feels there should be a discussion on the rules regarding players' eligibility for the AHL.

"I think if organizations had the option to have maybe one or two guys that you could keep in a union of two or three-year cycle, or whenever they could come up with, I think that'd be conversations for people like Musty," Quinn said.

Musty is confident that he and the Sudbury Wolves will be championship contenders in the CHL if he is sent back to Juniors.

Whatever the case, Musty will have to play the best game of his life to stay at the San Jose Sharks training camp.
