It is fitting that Boston College's 'Freshman Line' was named along with Smith.
Smith led the NCAA in points this season with 57 points (18 goals, 39 assists).
Projected No. 1 overall pick Macklin Celebrini was also named to Hockey East's First-Team All-Star.
While it doesn't affect his NCAA awards, the centerman won gold at the 2024 IIHF World Juniors.
With the trade of Tomas Hertl, the pressure on Smith increases as he will likely step into the role of No. 1 center. Prospects are the focal point of the Sharks' future.
Adding David Edstrom from the Vegas Golden Knights brings solid depth down the middle for the Sharks prospect pool. Filip Bystedt, Edstrom, William Eklund, and Tristen Robins, along with Smith, are the future.
