The St. Louis Blues once again were joined by Pius Suter at practice while Robert Thomas and Oskar Sundqvist skated for the first time since sustaining their lower-body injuries.

As the St. Louis Blues took the ice for their pre-game practice today, they were once again joined by Pius Suter, and by Robert Thomas and Oskar Sundqvist, who took the ice for the first time since they sustained their injuries.

Suter has been out of the lineup with a high-ankle sprain since Dec. 27, and although he won’t be in the lineup tonight, his return is imminent. He’s been with the team for several days now and has been ramping up his return process.

Thomas hasn’t played since Jan. 10 after sustaining a lower-body injury. He remains on the injured reserve, but his participation in practice is a good sign.

The 26-year-old has been the talk of plenty of trade news recently as his future with the organization remains in the balance.

Sundqvist suffered a scary-looking injury against the Edmonton Oilers on Jan. 18. He was cut by Connor McDavid’s skate just above his ankle. Thankfully, Sundqvist avoided the Achilles and can skate much sooner than was first feared.

Aside from Suter, Thomas, and Sundqvist, Dylan Holloway will continue to be sidelined after doing additional testing on his injured ankle. Otto Stenberg was assigned to the Springfield Thunderbirds yesterday, but the assignment was not based on performance. For him to be allowed to play in the AHL during the Olympic break, the 20-year-old is not allowed to play in any of the Blues’ last five games before the break.

Stenberg could likely be back with the Blues following the Olympics or after the trade deadline, when multiple players are expected to be traded.

The Blues host the Dallas Stars tonight at 7 p.m. CST.
