This Lightning defenseman threw a massive hit against the Panthers.

Victor Hedman speaks with media following 7-0 shutout win against the Flyers

The Tampa Bay Lightning suffered a tough 3-2 loss to the Florida Panthers in Game 1. While it is never a good thing to start a playoff series with a loss, they have plenty of time to turn things back around. Securing a win in Game 2 would be the first step in doing just that.

Although the Lightning lost this game, there were some strong moments from the club. Lightning defenseman Matt Dumba provided one, as he absolutely leveled Panthers forward Kevin Stenlund with a massive but clean hit.

Stenlund, 27, is a 6-foot-5 forward, so it was impressive to see Dumba level him with such a huge hit.

Panthers forward Eetu Luostarinen responded to this play by throwing a dirty hit on Dumba when he did not have the puck. Somehow, Luostarinen didn't receive a penalty for interference on the play.

Alas, Dumba's hit was certainly a great thing to see during this matchup. The Lightning brought him in to provide more physicality to their blueline, and he has certainly done that since his arrival. This latest beautiful hit from the right-shot defender is only another clear example of the impact he can make.

As this series continues, don't be surprised to see Dumba and the rest of the Bolts increase their physicality. Next up for the Lightning is Game 2.
