Will the Lightning try to re-sign this forward?
The Tampa Bay Lightning made a notable move at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, acquiring winger Anthony Duclair and a 2025 seventh-round pick from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Jack Thompson and a 2024 third-round pick.
Since joining the Lightning, Duclair has been magnificent, posting six goals, 11 points, and a plus-5 rating in his first 13 games. He has given the Lightning's top six that significant boost it needed, and it's unsurprising that the club has been on fire down the stretch because of it.

Due to Duclair having a hot start with the Lightning, Elliotte Friedman brought up the prospect of Tampa Bay potentially looking to extend the skilled winger. Here's what the prominent insider said on the matter: "I'm very curious to see if Tampa is going to sign him. He's been a really nice fit there"
Given how well Duclair has played with the Bolts, it is worth exploring. They have long needed another impactful winger in their top six, and he has given them that. His immediate chemistry with his new teammates also strengthens his case for re-signing.
The one obstacle to a potential Duclair re-signing is the team's limited cap space. In addition, the team needs to make a decision about captain Steven Stamkos. As a result, if the Bolts want to bring back both Duclair and Stamkos, they would likely need to move some money.
