Nikita Kucherov & Mikhail Sergachev Share Special Moment
Tampa Bay Lightning superstar Nikita Kucherov made history on Wednesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Hart Memorial Trophy candidatee became the fifth player in NHL history to reach the 100-assist mark in a single season, joining Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, Mario Lemieux, and Connor McDavid.
Kucherov is the first winger in NHL history to hit 100 assists in a season, which only adds to the significance of him accomplishing this feat.
After Kucherov hit his 100th assist of the season, Tampa Bay Lightning star defender Mikhail Sergachev walked down the tunnel to the Lightning's bench to congratulate No. 86.
Sergachev, 25, has been recovering from leg surgery. While he has returned to team practices, he still has more conditioning to do before potentially getting back into game action this postseason. However, even with this being so, he made sure to congratulate Kucherov for his historic achievement.
These are the kind of hockey moments fans love to see. It only shows just how good of friends Kucherov and Sergachev are.
