Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper spoke with reporters earlier today (Feb. 25) and shared some important injury updates. The Lightning's bench boss shared that defenseman Haydn Fleury is day-to-day, while Tanner Jeannot has been ruled for the club's upcoming road trip.
Cooper also noted that Jeannot's status is likely better than day-to-day but not week-to-week, as relayed by Eduardo A. Encina.
Fleury, 27, missed the Lightning's last game against the New York Islanders on Feb. 24 due to an undisclosed injury. Thankfully, it appears that his injury is not too serious, given the day-to-day update.
Jeannot, 26, has not played since Feb. 13's contest against the Boston Bruins. During that matchup, he played only 5:44 of ice time. It was also his first game back since previously getting injured on Jan. 6 against the Bruins.
Tanner Jeannot This Jeannot update is less encouraging, as it displays that a return is not necessarily close. However, on the bright side, at least he is not being viewed as being week-to-week.
Jeannot has appeared in 42 games this season, where he has six goals, six assists, and a minus-11 rating. As for Fleury, he has one goal, three assists, and a plus-2 rating in 17 contests.
