The Tampa Bay Lightning held a team practice on Monday (April 8), and a very notable player was there for it - star defenseman Mikhail Sergachev.
Sergachev skated with the club in a red, no-contact jersey. This is simply remarkable, as the star fractured his tibia and fibula only 60 days ago.
Following practice, head coach Jon Cooper provided an update on Sergachev's potential recovery timeline. Here's what the Bolts' bench boss had to say on the matter: "He’s making progress, but don’t read into it that he’s going to be a First-Round playoff participant because he won’t be. But who knows? We win a round or two, never say never. Like I said, great to have him out there."
While Sergachev is not nearing a return to game action, seeing him back on the ice with his teammates is still a massive step in the right direction. It's also encouraging that Cooper won't rule out the prospect of him playing in the postseason if the Lightning win at least one round.

Nevertheless, we will need to keep an eye on Sergachev's recovery from here. In 34 games this season, he had two goals and 19 points.
