The Tampa Bay Lightning secured a hard-fought 3-1 win over the Washington Capitals on March 1. Lightning star Brandon Hagel played a role in the win, as the 26-year-old winger scored the empty-netter that crushed the Capitals' comeback attempt.
With this goal, Hagel now has a four-game goal streak and an eight-game point streak. He has been simply dominant during this hot streak, too, as he has eight goals and 14 points in his last eight games.
Hagel has been excellent for the Lightning all season, and he is showing zero signs of slowing down with his recent play. In 59 games this season, the Saskatoon native now has 30 goals, 38 assists, 68 points, and a plus-29 rating. He also only needs one more goal to set a new career high.
It will be intriguing to see what Hagel does from here, but it is clear that the star forward is feeling it right now.
