The Tampa Bay Lightning have made a roster move, placing goaltender Matt Tomkins on waivers.
Tomkins, 30, appeared in his first six NHL career games last season for the Lightning. During them, he posted a 3-2-1 record, a 3.33 goals-against average (GAA), and a .892 save percentage (SV%).

Tomkins spent the bulk of the 2023-24 down in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Syracuse Crunch. In 29 appearances for the AHL squad, he had a 15-12-2 record, a .904 SV%, and a 2.53 GAA.
With Tomkins being placed on waivers, the Lightning will enter the 2024-25 season with Andrei Vasilevskiy and Jonas Johansson as their NHL goalies, as expected.
