The good news for Laine is the injury isn't as bad as it looks and he's slated to miss a few months due to a knee sprain and will not require surgery.

Pare took part in Toronto's 2-0 win against the Detroit Red Wings in pre-season action on Thursday and remains in camp.

The Leafs signed Pare to a one-year, two-way contract on July 2.
