Rodion Amirov passed away last week following a long battle with a brain tumor.
The KHL held a memorial for Rodion Amirov in Ufa, Russia on Monday following his passing just one week ago.
A memorial was held inside Salavat Yulaev's arena on Monday morning with a large number of fans gathering to say goodbye. There were photos of Amirov throughout the arena, with some gracing the walls as you walk onto the ice.
Along with fans, the entire Salavat Yulaev team came out to say farewell to their teammate, and friend.
Following the ceremony, Amirov was carried out of the arena as children on both sides tapped their hockey sticks on the cement. Amirov was led and followed out of the arena by people carrying wreaths and wearing Ufa's jersey.
"Rodion Amirov has left hockey arena for the last time..." The tweet said.
Former Maple Leafs GM Kyle Dubas revealed in February 2022 that Amirov had been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Following numerous rounds of treatment and recovery throughout the last year and a half, Amirov sadly passed away in Munich, Germany last Monday.
He was 21.
