Guenther and Peterka's Improvisation Keeps Utah Undefeated at Home
Will slap shot goals from Dylan Guenther ever get old?
Will slap shot goals from Dylan Guenther ever get old?
Utah Mammoth certainly doesn't think so, especially since it was his goal off a JJ Peterka pass that sealed the deal in Utah's 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins.
Originally, Utah looked like it had missed its chance at getting a goal after Peterka's first attempt to connect with Guenther went past him as he drove to the net front.

BY COMPARISON, the 2025 draft is going to be a snore for Utah’s scouting staff. The club made 11 picks last June but will only have six selections at its disposal this summer. That doesn’t mean Utah GM Bill Armstrong won’t be active – he made three deals on the draft floor last year.
IMMEDIATE NEEDS: There’s room for improvement on the blueline. As it stands, one of Ian Cole or Olli Maatta will be taking steady second-pairing minutes next season. Either can do the job in a pinch, but given the franchise has missed the playoffs 12 of the past 13 seasons dating back to its days as Arizona, Utah needs more than merely “good enough.”

So what did Guenther say when Utah rookie Dmitriy Simashev unexpectedly joined the scrum and asked what he thought about the last goal?
"I think it was a good one. I think the pass was a little soft from behind me, but maybe if you were out there, you would have put it...," Guenther said to Simashev.

It took just 4:48 of game time for Logan Cooley to make history in the Utah Mammoth’s game against the St. Louis Blues.
What exactly did Cooley do in such a short span? He scored three consecutive goals to record Utah’s first natural hat trick.
Cooley's Natural Hat Trick Gives Utah Mammoth's Franchise Record 5-Game Win-Streak
Before its 7-4 win over the Blues, the longest win streak the Utah Mammoth had achieved in their inaugural season was four games.
Before its 7-4 win over the Blues, the longest win streak the Utah Mammoth had achieved in their inaugural season was four games.
It made sense, Utah was adjusting to life in a new state, playing in front of fans the team had never had before, and the Mammoth were a young, inexperienced group still seeking consistency. The team was finding its identity in real time
But this season, the Mammoth are not only comfortable playing at home, as their 4-0 home record indicates, but their elevated play has also given them a franchise-record five-game winning streak.

Depending on the source, MICHAEL HRABAL is listed at 6-foot-6 or 6-foot-7. Either, though, illustrates Hrabal’s greatest strength: his sheer size. The 20-year-old casts a long shadow in the crease, and he uses his size incredibly. He’s put that on display at both the collegiate and international levels. At UMass, he’s posted a .919 SP across 66 games the past two seasons. But arguably more impressive are his WJC performances. He’s been a standout, backstopping Czechia to bronze medals at the past two tournaments.

Alexander Kerfoot is officially going to be out longer than originally expected as Utah GM Bill Armstrong revealed earlier in the day.
Originally said to just be a lower-body injury, Armstrong revealed that Kerfoot had an injury specifically related to a core muscle. It isn't clear if this injury was related to the previously stated lower-body injury.

With its latest 6-2 win over the Minnesota Wild, Utah has now extended its franchise-record win-streak to six games, with its last three coming against playoff teams.
Against the Wild, it was another high-flying start for Logan Cooley, who opened the scoring for the Mammoth with a remarkable backhanded goal, that got Utah Mammoth's offense started.
Utah Mammoth Powers Through Back-to-Back, Beats Winnipeg Jets 3-2
No one would have guessed the Utah Mammoth were playing on the back end of a back-to-back — not with the energy and effort the team brought against the Winnipeg Jets.
No one would have guessed the Utah Mammoth were playing on the back end of a back-to-back — not with the energy and effort the team brought against the Winnipeg Jets.
Utah has proven it’s not just a team with young, emerging stars; it’s a team hungry to prove itself as a contender and a force in the playoffs.
Dylan Guenther’s goal was further proof of that, giving Utah its first lead late in the third period, and ultimately was the biggest reason the Mammoth pulled off its 3-2 win over the Jets.
