Bob Frid-USA TODAY Sports - Canucks' Nikita Zadorov Talks Contract; Throws Jabs At Edmonton & Calgary

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Nikita Zadorov continued endearing himself to Canucks fans with his exit interview.

Zadorov has become a fan favorite for his play on the ice and his quotes to the media.

During his exit interview today, Zadorov was asked about his contractual status for next season. He threw a jab at the Edmonton Oilers media.

"Do you think I've priced myself out," Zadorov joked. "I don't know where you get those numbers. From the trees? You got to stop listening to Edmonton reporters who are negotiating a contract. That is only between my agent and Patrik. Hopefully, we can work something out."

He answered in the most Zadorov way possible, which is one of the main reasons his connection with the fans is so strong.

"Hockey in Canada is different. I can't compare it to Calgary, but I feel like the Vancouver fan base is way bigger," Zadorov said about the fans. "Calgary isn't even the number one team in Alberta, so it's kind of like obvious there are more Edmonton fans because they have a bigger history."

"Vancouver is a different level. The fans were so hungry to see playoff hockey at home. It's been eight years. There are so many great traditions," Zadorov said. "It's been unbelievable. I feel like the whole city rallied around the team during the playoffs. I just enjoyed every second of it for sure."

Zadorov is a pending unrestricted free agent and could hit the open market if a contract extension isn't agreed upon.
