Elias Pettersson signed an eight-year, $92.8 million extension on Saturday.

The Vancouver Canucks (38-17-7) kick off their three-game road trip with a visit to the Honda Center to take on the Anaheim Ducks (22-35-3). This will be the first of two meetings this month between the Canucks and Ducks, with the other coming on Mar. 31 in Vancouver. While the two teams are heading in opposite directions, this is a massive game for the Canucks as they look to get back on track after losing six of their last seven games.

A game against Anaheim might be precisely what the doctor ordered for Vancouver. While the Ducks have gone 4-5-1 in their last ten games, they are giving up the fifth-most shots and goals per game in the league. If the Canucks can play their game and generate chances, it could allow for a few players currently in goalless and pointless streaks to snap them finally.

Players to Watch

Elias Pettersson

All eyes will be on Elias Pettersson as he hits the ice for the first time since signing his massive extension. He has thrived in the past when playing Anaheim with 19 points in 15 games and is just two points off, becoming the 13th player in franchise history to hit the 400 mark for his career. With all the outside noise gone, the hope is he can return to the EP40 fans in Vancouver have come to love over the last six years.

Adam Henrique

With the trade deadline fast approaching, Adam Henrique could be playing his final game in a Ducks jersey. He is one of the top trade targets available, and based on the Ilya Lyubushkin, Anaheim may be keen to move him sooner rather than later. Currently on a four-game point streak. he is doing everything possible to raise his trade value before the Mar. 8 deadline.
