The Vancouver Canucks (47-21-8) are looking to end their three-game road trip on a high as they visit the L.A. Kings (40-25-11). The Canucks will be facing a desperate Kings team who are still fighting to secure a playoff berth. With a victory, Vancouver would hit the 48-win mark for the sixth time in franchise history. At the same time, if the Canucks win in regulation, they would become the third team in franchise history to record 42 regulation wins in a season.
Vancouver needs to find a way to jumpstart its offence. They have scored two goals or fewer in all three previous matchups with L.A. and have gone five straight games without scoring 4+ goals. A multi-goal win would not only show that the Canucks can have success against the Kings but could build some momentum heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.
Players to Watch
Ilya Mikheyev
Ilya Mikheyev is once again stuck in a long pointless streak, with no points in his last six games. While he had a chance to score into an empty net against the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday, he missed the opportunity, pushing his current goalless drought to nine games. Currently playing in the bottom six, he needs to start producing if the Canucks have eyes on a long playoff run this year.
Viktor Arvidsson
After missing the majority of the season with a lower-body injury, Viktor Arvidsson is making up for lost time. Arvidsson has eight points in 12 games, which included a two-assist performance against the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday. A dynamic offensive winger, he loves to shoot the puck and can burn teams if given time and space.
