Vancouver Canucks goaltender Arturs Silovs earned his second win of the season last night and should get more time in the crease while Thatcher Demko is out.

The 23-year-old netminder has made strides from his cameo last season and feels more consistent this season.
"I think I've become a little bit more consistent. I think there's more calmness and structure to my game," Silovs told THN last Saturday. "I can deliver the same result every single game and that's what I'm working for every single day."
Although he's played just two games in the NHL this season, he's had to be sharp in both. He's faced 43 shots and stopped 40 of them. Both victories have been one-goal games, with his team scoring a go-ahead goal in the third period.
"You don't really know when you're going to play. I try to be always on the edge mentally because you never know what may happen," Silovs said about being Casey DeSmith's backup. It is hard to always stay sharp, but that's what I'm trying to accomplish."
Silovs and other players have been called up from the Abbotsford Canucks, which has helped his transition so late into the season.
"I feel like we're more familiar with our guys," he explained. "It's much easier to just go in and then start to play. [We have] better communication and I think that's the biggest thing for a game."
Silovs will likely get at least another start down the stretch run if Thatcher Demko remains out. With the Edmonton Oilers losing last night, the Canucks were able to push their gap up to seven in the standings.
