Against all odds, the Vancouver Canucks found a way to come back from a two-goal deficit to beat the Nashville Predators 4-3 in overtime. Brock Boeser scored a hat trick, including the game-tying goal, with eight seconds left, while Elias Lindholm's overtime winner sent the Canucks back to Vancouver with a 3-1 series lead. As for Artūrs Šilovs, he stopped 27 of 30 shots, recording his first career playoff win in his first career playoff start.

While this was a frustrating game to watch, the Canucks stars stepped up when they needed them most. Boeser had a hat trick, while J.T. Miller had three assists on the night. The biggest positive, though, is that Vancouver continued to press until the end. This was a game the Canucks didn't deserve to win through the first 40 minutes, but they kept forcing the issue late and were eventually rewarded with two goals in the last three minutes of the third. Thanks to that final push, Vancouver will now have a chance to advance to the second round in front of their fans for the first time since 2007.

Lastly, Šilovs was solid in his first career playoff game. While he didn't face a ton of high-danger chances, he controlled his rebounds and kept the Canucks in the game long enough for them to mount the comeback. Based on his performance, it would not be surprising to see him start Game 5.

    Quotes

Artūrs Šilovs on the Canucks play in Game 4:

"That's a character win. That's what this team showed so many times. During the season, I think this is the way we played, and we managed to do that. Huge goal in overtime, and I think it's all character. Guys did an amazing job."

J.T. Miller on the Canucks comeback win:

"It's a pretty special moment for our group, especially a day where I thought they outplayed us there for a heavy portion of the game. I thought we had a good first period, then after that, we started losing a lot of puck battles. We've shown a lot of no-quitting in this team all year long and to see Brock get rewarded there and the team get rewarded with the outcome, we feel really good. We're gonna enjoy it tonight, but we know we gotta strap it on a little tighter for the next one."

    Rick Tocchet on Nashville's physicality:

"I think Nashville, their game plan is to send three at you. Sometimes, you gotta play a bit more give-and-go. You gotta give the puck up a little quicker. I think when you get in trouble against Nashville is when you hold onto pucks too long. Then you get doubled up on. As soon as you get it, you gotta move it right away, and maybe you get it down the road. I think it's hard to play one-on-one hockey against Nashville."

Rick Tocchet on whether Filip Forsberg's goal was kicked in:

"I don't think so. I think those types of goals gotta be allowed in the NHL. I think he redirected it. I understand if it's a huge kicking motion, but I think they made the right call."
