Michael McCarron's hit on Casey DeSmith continues to cost the Nashville Predators forward. On Saturday, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced that McCarron was fined $2,000 for goaltender interference against Casey DeSmith. The hit occurred at the 12:25 mark of the first period, with McCarron receiving a goaltender interference penalty on the play.

The hit not only hurt McCarron's wallet, but his team on the scoreboard. On the ensuing power play, J.T. Miller was able to convert, putting the Vancouver Canucks up 1-0 at the time. While the goal did not serve as the game-winner, it had a massive impact on the game as the Canucks skated away with a 2-1 victory in Game 3.
