The Vancouver Canucks have defeated the Nashville Predators 1-0 to win their first-round series in six games.
The game was tight all night, but Pius Suter broke the 0-0 tie with 1:39 left in the third period.
Artus Silovs stopped 27 shots to record his first career playoff shutout. The Predators got a late powerplay, but Silovs and the Canucks defense hung on to complete the victory.
The Canucks move on to face the Edmonton Oilers in the second round. Vancouver will have home-ice advantage yet again. The Canucks were 4-0 in the regular season against Connor McDavid and the Oilers. Game one is expected to happen on Tuesday.
