Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet continued to make adjustments to his lineups, and based on the morning skate, there could be some different line combinations against the Edmonton Oilers In game five.
After inserting Nils Åman and Linus Karlsson into the lineup, Tocchet continues to make changes. Elias Lindholm was moved to the center on the top line, with Nils Hoglander and Elias Pettersson on the wing.
The Canucks most consistent line had been the third line of Lindholm, Connor Garland, and Dakota Joshua. Breaking that lineup is surprising, given that Tocchet said it wouldn't be a good idea.
Tocchet called out his team after the game four loss, saying that some players need to "get going." Pettersson is seen as one of those players, and the bench boss suggested he could need some help on his line.
"All fairness to him, I'm not sure he's sometimes getting the help he needs," Tocchet said on Wednesday. "Saying that, I still think he can drive play a little bit better. I think when the puck comes he can move his feet and be more dynamic, he's got the skill set."
Carson Soucy projects to return to the Canucks lineup after serving his one-game suspension.
Arturs Silovs projects to make his eighth consecutive start for Vancouver, and Thatcher Demko, who is getting closer to returning, still hasn't joined the team for practice.
