The Vancouver Canucks were ranked eighth in the NHL's first edition of the 2024-25 Super 16 rankings.

NHL.com has released their first edition of the Super 16, with the Canucks ranked eighth. Vancouver came in one spot above the Toronto Maple Leafs and just behind the Nashville Predators. Just like ESPN's rankings that also recently came out, Vancouver was the second-highest Canadian team and Pacific Division team, coming in behind the Edmonton Oilers, who are ranked second.
In the ranking, Senior Writer Dan Rosen wrote, "With Thatcher Demko back in goal and lessons learned from last season, they could find their way into the top five quickly. The Canucks are for real. They know it and now the rest of the NHL does too." He mentions the additions Vancouver made in free agency and the value in re-signing Filip Hronek as reasons the Canucks will do well this season. Rosen also noted that the team learned a lot last year in the regular season and playoffs, which should help them improve in 2024-25.
