The Canucks defeated the Blues 5-0 earlier this season.
The Vancouver Canucks (24-10-3) open up their seven-game road trip with a matchup versus the St. Louis Blues (18-17-1). The last time these two teams faced off, Thatcher Demko made 22 saves as Vancouver shut out St. Louis. With a victory, the Canucks would hit the 25-win mark 24 games quicker than they did in 2022-23.
After their performance against the Ottawa Senators, the biggest question heading into this game is can Vancouver play a full 60 minute game? Even if they get an early lead, they need to continue to press rather than just sit back and allow the opposition to attack in waves. Having lost two straight, this will be a motivated Blues team that could catch the Canucks off guard.
Players to Watch
Elias Pettersson
It is safe to say that Elias Pettersson loves playing the St. Louis Blues. The Canucks center has 19 points in 12 career games which included a two-assist night the last time these two teams faced off. Coming off one of his best games of the season, do not be surprised if his name is all over the scoresheet by the end of the night.
Pavel Buchnevich
One player that will be motivated to get on the scoresheet is Pavel Buchnevich. The Blues winger has gone pointless in his last three games despite recording 13 shots over that span. With nine points in 12 career games against Vancouver, he will be a threat whenever the puck is on his stick.
