Quinn Hughes was named to the First All-Star Team, while Thatcher Demko made the Second All-Star Team.
The NHL has announced their year-end All-Star Teams, with two Vancouver Canucks making the cut. Quinn Hughes was named to the First All-Star Team, while Thatcher Demko was the goaltender on the Second All-Star Team. Two other Canucks received votes, with J.T. Miller finishing seventh among left-wingers while Brock Boeser ranked eighth among right-wingers.
Hughes led all defencemen in voting, picking up 185 first-place votes and 931 points. Vancouver's captain took home this year's Norris Trophy while also finishing seventh in Hart Trophy voting. Hughes becomes the first Canucks player since Daniel and Henrik Sedin in 2011 to be included on the First All-Star Team as well as the first defenceman in franchise history.
As for Demko, he was named to the Second All-Star Team after receiving 410 points. The runner-up for the Vezina Trophy, Demko joins Kirk McLean and Roberto Luongo as the only goaltenders to feature on the NHL's Second All-Star Team. This season, Demko recorded his first 35-win season while also setting a new career high with five shutouts.
