This is the second consecutive consecutive season that Wouters has been the Abbotsford Canucks nominee for the Yanick Dupré Memorial Award.

The Abbotsford Canucks have announced that for the second consecutive season, Chase Wouters has been named the team's winner of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award. The yearly award is given to a player who demonstrates outstanding contributions to the local community and charitable organizations during the season. All 32 players selected will then receive a nomination for the Yanick Dupré Memorial Award, which will be handed out later this month.
Wouters, Abbotsford's captain, has made an impact both on the ice and in the community. In a statement released by the Canucks, Wouters received the nomination thanks to his work with multiple organizations, including the Chilliwack Bowls of Hope Society, Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre and the Stick and Skate Social program. Now in his third season with Abbotsford, Wouters continues to support the community and give back whenever possible.
On the ice, Wouters has led the Canucks to a third straight playoff appearance. He has 22 points in 62 games and has already tied his career high in goals. Wouters has also played in every postseason game Abbotsford has been a part of, helping them win their first playoff game and series in franchise history last year.
