Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports - Macklin Celebrini Reveals Favorite Canucks Player Of All Time

Projected No. 1 pick in the upcoming 2024 NHL Draft, Macklin Celebrini met with Sheng Peng of SJHN and revealed his favorite Vancouver Canucks player of all time.

Celebrini is a Vancouver native and was spotted in attendance at game seven against the Edmonton Oilers.

In the interview, Celebrini tells SJHN that he wears No. 17 for his favorite Canucks player, Ryan Kesler.

"I think the year I started to love him was in his breakout year," Celebrini said of Kesler's 41-goal Selke Trophy-winning campaign in 2010-11. "He was playing amazing, he was pretty much leading the Canucks with the Sedins with his play. I remember going to a Canucks game, seeing him, and he scored like two goals. I just loved him from that point in."

Celebrini said he loved watching Kesler play more as a fan than as a role model for his game. Celebrini's public fandom will likely have to end as soon as the San Jose Sharks pick him, but for now, Canucks fans can say their team has two Celerbrinis on their side. The Canucks own the signing rights to Celebrini's older brother Aiden.
