The Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers will battle on the ice during the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and two politicians will enjoy a friendly wager for the series.

British Columbia Primer David Eby and Alberta Primer Danielle Smith have made a bet based on the result of this series.

After the Canucks defeated the Nashville Predators in game six, Smith took to social media to call out Eby for the all-Canadian second-round matchup. Smith says whichever team wins the series, the losing Primer will have to deliver a statement to their legislature, but with a twist of the winning Primer writing the speech. To make it even better, the loser must wear the winning team's jersey as they perform.

Eby promptly responded by accepting the friendly wager.

Eby also poked fun at the Calgary Flames as a team that both fan bases can say they don't like. The hockey world will already have a lot of attention on this series, but now a friendly government wager is at stake, too.
