Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller says his team is coming into game seven with the mentality of a hard-fought game against the Edmonton Oilers.
Miller has had the tough task of trying to shut down Oilers superstar Connor McDavid all series. He has fared well, as McDavid has been relatively quiet by his standards.
"It's going to be hard, and I think that's the fun part of it. You got to embrace the hardness. If you want an easy night, then you're going to struggle," Miller said. "You can't hide from games like these. You got to embrace it, and we've been talking about that all season long."
After the Canucks disappointing game six effort, Miller knows that the entire dressing room is ready to turn a page and feels that the team has responded well after a poor performance.
"We respond well after we don't bring our A game," he explained. "We expect the same as a group and as part of the culture and standard in here."
Miller was asked about the team's low shot volume after only having 15 shots on goal in game six.
"We're not a high-volume shot team. I think we've learned that in general. It's not a huge panic for us. I just think when we're on our game, we get more looks, and we shoot the puck," Miller said. "It's not like we're going to look to cross the blue line and start shooting every single puck on the net. Obviously, we need to be better. We know that, and the good news is we can turn the page, and there is one game to do it."
The winner of tonight's game seven will face the Dallas Stars on Thursday for game one of the Western Conference Final.
