Canucks are now 8-0-2 in their last ten games.
The Vancouver Canucks (32-11-5) pushed their point streak to ten games but fell 4-3 to the St. Louis Blues (24-20-2) in overtime. Pius Suter provided the Canucks will all their offence, recording his second career hat trick and first since his rookie season. This was just the tenth time all season Vancouver has trailed after the first period, dropping their record to 2-5-3 with the loss.
While this wasn't a perfect game for the Canucks, they deserve credit for the way they fought back at the end. The line juggling worked as Suter looked great beside J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser, while players like Nils Höglander and Noah Juulsen provided strong depth play throughout the game. Overall, Vancouver played well as a unit but fell just short in a game they arguably deserved to win.
Here is what Rick Tocchet had to say about his team's performance against the Blues:
"I thought there were parts of our game; I really liked parts of our game—a good battle. The Miller line was great. I thought Milsey (Miller) and Sutes (Sutter) were really good tonight. Had some individuals that played really hard for us. Obviously, overtime goal."
