Nikita Zadorov may have just become public enemy number one after his recent comments about the City of Edmonton.

Nikita Zadorov is never afraid to speak his mind. Whether it is about his own play, the officials or even political topics, the Vancouver Canucks defender has provided exceptional quotes during his career. Before the team flew to Edmonton, Zadorov added to his long list of quotes as he joked about why Oilers fans are so passionate about their team.
"It's fun," said Zadorov during his media availability on Saturday. "They are good fans, die-hard fans. I mean, there is pretty much nothing else to do in that city except watch hockey, so I like what they are doing. They love their team for sure and are supporting them so hard. It's been fun. I've only had a good experience over there, for sure."
Zadorov has plenty of experience playing against Edmonton at Rogers Arena. Before arriving in Vancouver, he played 177 games with the Calgary Flames and was part of their playoff series against the Oilers in 2022. Unfortunately, Zadorov's Flames came out on the wrong side of that series, falling 4-1 to Edmonton in the second round.
As for this year's series, Zadorov has been a dominant force through the first two games. The hulking defender has matching two-point games and sits third in scoring during the series, only behind Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. It will be interesting to see what sort of reception Zadorov receives during Game 3, as his comments about the city will not go over well with the Oilers faithful.
