Alex Pietrangelo had two assists in his 1,000th career NHL game - a 5-3 loss to the Minnesota Wild.
Jonathan Marchessault, Michael Amadio and Mark Stone scored the three goals, while Adin Hill made 24 saves.
“We could have won the game if we scored on the power play,” Pietrangelo said. “That wasn’t good enough to get the one. I just think we were good enough. I don’t think our execution was good enough up and down the lineup. You want to win those games, especially when you have a big break. It’s frustrating to sit here for four days now. It’ll help us get prepared for Saturday.”
The Golden Knights fell to 31-16-6 on the season.
Marchessault scored the opening goal 22 seconds into the game when his shot deflected off a stick and floated into the net.
The Wild took advantage of a 5-on-3 power play, scoring once and scored again shortly after the 5-on-4 to make it 2-1.
Amadio scored on the power play at 17:45 of the first period.
After a scoreless second, the Wild added two goals in a span of 61 seconds before Mark Stone scored on a slap shot at 9:40.
It was the final goal for the Golden Knights, as the Wild scored the empty-net goal to seal the victory.
Vegas hosts Carolina on Saturday.
