The Vegas Golden Knights have placed defenseman Tobias Bjornfot on waivers.
The Golden Knights have acquired Noah Hanifin and Anthony Mantha since they last played on Monday against the Columbus Blue Jackets and are over the 23-player roster limit before placing Bojrnfot on waivers.
The 22-year-old defenseman was on the IR since Jan. 13. He's played in just three games this season and has yet to register a point.
Bjornfot was a first-round pick in 2019 by the Los Angeles Kings and since being drafted he's played 119 games over five seasons. The Golden Knights claimed the Swedish defenseman off waivers on Jan. 4.
The Golden Knights have a lot of depth on defence now with Hanifin and once Alec Martinez returns it will be hard to see Bjornfot get game action unless there are multiple injuries. If he clears waivers he'll play for the Henderson Silver Knights in the AHL where he has played five games this season.
